Free Barcode Label Maker

BarcodeLabeler creates barcode images for small label jobs: inventory tags, shelf labels, bin labels, product stickers, equipment tags, file labels, and QR labels. Generate the barcode, download the image, then place it into your label template or print workflow.

Good label uses

Inventory labels

Use Code 128 for SKUs, stock locations, work orders, and internal part numbers such as INV-A1042.

Asset tags

Use short IDs like ASSET-00921 for tools, laptops, meters, fixtures, and shared equipment.

Shelf and bin labels

Encode locations such as AISLE-03-BIN-14 so a scanner can move directly from the label to your inventory system.

Product labels

Use UPC-A or EAN-13 only when you already have a valid retail number. Use Code 128 for internal product labels.

Simple label workflow

  1. Pick the barcode type. Code 128 is the safest default for most business labels.
  2. Enter the exact value your scanner or system should receive.
  3. Use SVG for crisp resizing, or PNG for office apps and quick printing.
  4. Download the barcode image and insert it into Word, Google Docs, Canva, label printer software, or an Avery-style sheet template.
  5. Print one test label and scan it before printing a full sheet or roll.

Printing tips that prevent bad scans

PNG vs SVG vs BMP for label files

SVG is best when the label app supports vector artwork. It stays sharp if you resize the barcode for different label sizes. PNG is the easiest choice for office documents and browser-based design tools. BMP can help with older desktop label software that expects bitmap images.
