Warehouse Bin Barcode Generator
Create barcode labels for warehouse bins, shelves, racks, aisles, parts cabinets, and storage locations. Code 128 is a flexible choice for location IDs because it can encode letters, numbers, and hyphens.
The generator opens with a sample location already created. Replace it with your real bin ID before downloading.
Useful warehouse bin ID examples
BIN-A04-R2for aisle A04, rack or row 2.AISLE-03-SHELF-07for a longer location hierarchy.PARTS-CAB-12for a parts cabinet.RECEIVING-DOCK-1for a staging or receiving location.
Keep IDs short and consistent with the location names in the inventory or warehouse system. Avoid changing a location code after labels are installed unless the system is updated at the same time.
Print a scannable bin label
- Choose one location ID and generate a Code 128 barcode.
- Download SVG for reusable label artwork, or PNG/BMP for a quick document or test print.
- Place the human-readable bin ID next to or below the barcode.
- Keep clear blank space on both sides of the bars.
- Print and scan one label at its final size before labeling every shelf or rack.
For short IDs, a starting width of about 50–70 mm is often practical, but the scanner, printer, label material, and reading distance determine the final size. Longer IDs need more width.
When to use another barcode format
Use Code 128 for most internal bin and shelf IDs. Use Data Matrix when a location must fit into a very small square area. Use QR Code when the label needs to contain a URL or instructions in addition to the location ID.
